Stiegelmeyer Africa (Pty). Ltd reserves the right to change these conditions from time to time as it sees fit and your continued use of the site will signify your acceptance of any adjustment to these terms. In using this website you are deemed to have read and agreed to the following terms and conditions:

Confidentiality
Client records are regarded as confidential and therefore will not be divulged to any third party, other than our Freight partner for delivery, and/or if legally required to do so to the appropriate authorities. Clients are requested to retain copies of any literature issued in relation to the provision of our services. Where appropriate, we shall issue Client’s with appropriate written information, handouts or copies of records as part of an agreed contract, for the benefit of both parties.

We will not sell, share, or rent your personal information to any third party or use your e-mail address for unsolicited mail. Any emails sent by this Company will only be in connection with the provision of agreed services and products.

Prices

Prices on the website may vary from time to time and may change at any time and without prior notification. From time to time technical errors may occur and while we do, within reason endeavour to honour prices advertised by Stiegelmeyer Africa on its Homecare Online Shop, we reserve the right to amend pricing as needed where a technical/human error has occurred.

Please note that where general terms such as “BEDS” or “FURNITURE” are used, the sale discount may only apply to selected products and Stiegelmeyer Africa reserves the right to select these products.

All prices quoted on the website are in ZAR (South African Rand), inclusive of VAT (value added tax) and includes delivery nationally within South Africa.

Vouchers

Percentage or value discount vouchers are valid on a one voucher per invoice basis and are subject to terms of use as stated on the voucher. Voucher discounts are not valid on already discounted/sale items.

Credit card transactions for Stiegelmeyer Africa Homecare Online Shop will be processed via Paygate (Pty) Ltd who are the approved payment gateway.  Paygate uses the strictest form of encryption, namely Secure Socket Layer 3 (SSL3) and no credit card details are stored on the website. Users may go to www.paygate.co.za to view their security certificate and security policy.

Our Terms are receipt of payment before goods are delivered. All goods remain the property of the Stiegelmeyer Africa until paid for in full.  We reserve the right to seek recovery of any monies remaining unpaid after goods are delivered to you via collection Agencies and/or through the Small Claims Court in the event that the outstanding balance does not exceed R12000.00. In such circumstances, you shall be liable for any and all additional administrative and/or court costs.

Cancellation Policy

We want you to feel perfectly confident when shopping at Stiegelmeyer Africa Homecare Online Shop. Therefore, we give you the option to return any unopened, unused item in its original packaging that you bought from us for any reason within 7 days of receiving the item.

Stiegelmeyer Africa reserves the right not to accept an order under the following circumstances:

    • Unavailability of stock to fulfil the order within the stated lead times
    • Payment not authorised
    • Client does not comply with terms and conditions of sale

Refunds, Returns & Exchange Policy

We would like to make your customer experience as pleasant as possible. If you have bought any goods and you are experiencing problems with the goods and would like to return them we will be happy to assist.  Reasonable requests to return goods will be considered only under the following conditions and will be handled in the following manner.

  1. The items must be unused and returned unassembled in their original packaging accompanied by a copy of the relevant invoice or delivery note .
  2. The items must be in their original condition. If the goods are returned in their original condition and repackaged in their original packaging we may charge you a reasonable amount for necessary restoration costs to render the goods fit for re-stocking.
  3. Items that have been custom made cannot be returned.
  4. Under no circumstances shall Stiegelmeyer Africa be held liable for any damage arising from misuse, abuse or neglect of goods or services supplied.
  5. Stiegelmeyer Africa cannot be held liable for any damages to product that were assembled incorrectly by the customer.
  6. special-order goods that have been accepted by Stiegelmeyer Africa or items that required specific fabrics, custom design or where a colour choice was involved cannot be returned without Stiegelmeyer Africa written consent .
  7. Exchanges/Refunds will not be given if a customer changes their mind or has made a wrong decision; where cleaning, assembly and maintenance instructions have not been followed.
  8. You may not return goods if after having been supplied the goods you have partially or entirely disassembled, physically altered, permanently installed, affixed, attached, joined or added to, blended or combined, or embedded within other products or property.
  9. You will be liable for full transport costs (round trip – outgoing and incoming) which will be deducted from your refund.
  10. The full transport cost which could have cost more than what you paid or what was advertised, will be recovered from your refund.

Please Note:  For hygiene reasons, mattresses are non-refundable and cannot be returned once the original seal has been opened.  If you on inspection upon delivery feel you have made the incorrect choice please notify us, in certain circumstances, considered on a case to case basis, an exchange may be considered but will be subject to a 15% handling fee. In these cases where the bed/mattress has already been delivered the client will be liable for costs of return of the bed and or mattress to the Stiegelmeyer Africa Warehouse in Midrand, Johannesburg.

Any defective/faulty goods must be returned within 7 working days, with a copy of the invoice and packed in the original or suitable packaging, upon which Stiegelmeyer Africa will:

    1. repair or replace the failed or defective goods; or
    2. refund you the price paid for the goods.

In the unlikely event that goods are damaged in transit, Stiegelmeyer Africa must be notified immediately and goods must be packed in original or suitable packaging in order for Stiegelmeyer Africa to arrange replacement of the damaged goods.

Refunds will be initiated once all goods are returned to Stiegelmeyer Africa and have been assessed by our Technicians. Refunds will be processed to the account or credit card that payment was received from; which could take up to thirty (30) working days. Errors and omissions excepted.

Warranty

Stiegelmeyer products complies with ISO and CE requirements, and adheres to the highest quality manufacturing standards. This is why every product sold by Stiegelmeyer Africa Homecare Online Shop enjoys a standard 2 year warranty against any defective workmanship or materials.

This warranty will be null and void should the goods be abused or used/stored outside of the manufacturers specifications (which can be found in the user manual), or assembly instructions not followed correctly.

In the event of having to make a claim contact our ASSIST Technical 24/7 call center on 0861 11 11 12.  Please allow for up to two weeks for evaluation of your claim which may include an inspection of your goods.   You will need to keep your proof of purchase as product warranty in a safe place.

Delivery Policy

For your convenience, we offer free delivery countrywide on our range of products.  As our preferred delivery partner, TimeFreight will deliver your purchase anywhere in South Africa.  

You can expect to be contacted by Stiegelmeyer Africa within 24 hours of your online purchase (or the next business day) to confirm receipt of your order.

A delivery date and time will be communicated by our freight partner through an interactive SMS to arrange delivery within 3 - 5 working days from receipt of funds.  Should the suggested delivery date and time not be suitable, kindly select the link provided in the SMS to indicate your preferred date and time to take receipt of your purchase.  Should you not be home/unavailable to take delivery of the goods on the date and time you confirmed, an additional re-delivery charge of R800 could apply.

Note that delivery dates quoted are estimates and while every effort will be made to ensure estimated dates are honoured, circumstances beyond Stiegelmeyer Africa’s or TimeFreight’s control may cause delivery dates to be changed. The same applies to estimated timeframes on arranged delivery days as transporters can be delayed by unforeseen traffic, accidents and roadworks.

As per our Refunds, Returns & Exchange policy, goods must be unwrapped and inspected soonest after delivery and Stiegelmeyer Africa notified immediately of any damage. In these cases, all wrapping and packaging must be retained so that Stiegelmeyer Africa can arrange delivery of replacements and the safe return of the damaged goods to their warehouse. It is required that faulty/damaged goods be returned in their original packaging.

Please note that delivery excludes unwrapping and installation.  Should you require assembly assistance, please feel free to contact our ASSIST Technical department on 0861 11 11 12 to arrange for an assembly assistance at an additional cost of R2,500 per bed.

Certain products may need to be custom made especially for you and can take up to 3 month to be imported and delivered.

Availability
The provision of goods and services by Stiegelmeyer Africa Homecare Online Shop is subject to availability. While we do try and keep the site updated with current and available products only, these products are only available while stocks last. While our manufacturing plant does its best to keep us updated there may be periods from time to time where we are unaware that stock levels are depleted and products will still appear on the site. Also as shortages of imported materials and timbers used in the manufacturing process can cause production delays, we may remove and re-introduce products from time to time.

Unless otherwise stated, the products and services featured on this website are only available within South Africa, or in relation to postings from South Africa. All advertising is intended solely for the South African market. Redistribution or republication of any part of this site or its content is prohibited, including such by framing or other similar or any other means, without the express written consent of Stiegelmeyer Africa. The Company does not warrant that the service from this site will be uninterrupted, timely or error free, although it is provided to the best ability. By using this service you thereby indemnify Stiegelmeyer Africa, its employees, agents and affiliates against any loss or damage, in whatever manner, howsoever caused.

Colours and finishes

Whilst Stiegelmeyer Africa takes effort to match all colours and finishes due to the nature of the goods supplied, all goods are supplied on the understanding that there may be:

    • Slight shade and grain variations, particularly with natural products such as wood and material textile covers.
    • Slight imperfections in hand finished pieces.
    • Slight colour variations due to the nature of fabric and variations in dye.

Festive season shutdown

Please note due to the annual shutdown of our suppliers and relevant depots from mid December to mid January, some of the products on our website may only be available for delivery in the next year. To ensure timeous delivery please make sure you place your orders well in advance, where possible we will store your goods free of charge should they be ready before the estimated delivery date. Should you wish to place your order during this period, please be sure to confirm an estimated delivery date with one of our consultants before purchasing.

Force Majeure

Neither party shall be liable to the other for any failure to perform any obligation under any Agreement which is due to an event beyond the control of such party including but not limited to any Act of God, terrorism, war, Political insurgence, insurrection, riot, civil unrest, act of civil or military authority, uprising, earthquake, flood or any other natural or man made eventuality outside of our control, which causes the termination of an agreement or contract entered into, nor which could have been reasonably foreseen. Waiver
